Norwich Castle Keep | “Visioning” Project

Norwich Castle Museum + the British Museum

Norwich Castle Keep is an iconic Norman royal palace and one of Europe’s most important early medieval castles. It is a Scheduled Ancient Monument and Grade 1 listed.

In 2011 I designed gallery concepts as part of a “visioning” project. The aim of the project was to creatively explore how the Keep could be redeveloped to tell key stories about Norman life at the castle, creating ‘blue sky’ concepts to help with fundraising and build awareness of the project.

The redeveloped Keep would also showcase both Norwich Museum’s own medieval collection and objects from the British Museum’s collection, bringing treasures of international importance to Norwich, as well as making the Keep more accessible and inclusive.

I developed design concepts and worked with a visualiser to create the images below.

The project was for PLB. Images courtesy of PLB.
